What writings have been done?	Betul writes down rapid responses to Think in English prompts; she composes sentences using conjunctions to share with me at lesson time; she reads English captions on videos we use in lesson and when she is watching movies at home
What LVORC activities has the student participated in?	None
Additional comments or student accomplishments.	Betul now has an appointment for fingerprinting as part of her citizenship application-August 18. We will begin to study for the test now. She handled a Spectrum service visit by herself when they had internet connection/wifi problems. She was proud of being able to both express herself and understand the technician's responses. She requested some help with how to respond when she meets strangers who want to pet her dog when on a walk with him. She felt that people were puzzled by what she says. We came up with "Max isn't good with strangers. He gets nervous and barks. Are you okay with him?" Betul said she was able to use the phrase "he's not good with strangers" on Wednesday, 7/28, when someone approached them on a walk, and the person understood her and kept her distance. Betul said she did not have to consciously think how to say it-she said it just popped out! She was very excited by that-her first awareness of "thinking in English."

Program goal changes	Betul is definitely getting closer to considering employment beyond food delivery. We are going to do the Job Zone registration together.
